At one time or another, everyone will deal with anxious feelings. The first day of a new job, an upcoming proposal, or the stress of your finances can become too much and even the most serene person will find themselves feeling a little anxious. There are ways to manage these unruly feelings, and the first step is always to take a deep breath.
If you find yourself struggling with anxiety, try the 5-4-3-2-1 method to find your centre. This exercise helps to get you grounded in the moment, and move forward in a calm and collected way. You're going to start by taking a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth. Then you begin to take notice of your surroundings. Identify five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell and one thing you can taste. This will bring you back to the present.
